Wherever there are expats, there is a market for selling local goods. Today, I went to the American Women's Club of the Philippines' Monthly Bazaar where the cooperative sells their bags. This is the first time they sold the earrings I designed, and I was happy that people were interested and buying! The bazaar reminded me of craft fairs I used to go to in Dhahran. Even the ratio of Filipinos to Americans was similar. I was supposed to just visit the women there and help sell the earrings, but, of course, I could not suppress the ARAMCO consumer in me, and ended up buying two woven clutches. So, the expat shopping gene continues to fuel local economies everywhere...
